Zoya RaZaiba Hussain is an Indian photographer and visual artist based in Paris, France, working across conceptual and documentary photography. Her practice engages with themes of identity, belonging, perception, and emotional vulnerability, often exploring the tensions between how individuals see themselves and how they are understood by others.
Through portraiture and fragmented visual forms, her work examines identity as something unstable and continuously negotiated rather than fixed or singular. Experimenting with non-linear narratives, she creates photographs that hold multiple emotional and psychological states simultaneously.
Her practice is deeply rooted in observation and intimacy, creating space for contradiction, ambiguity, and multiplicity to exist without resolution. Through this, her work seeks to challenge simplified readings of identity and open space for more nuanced and personal forms of representation.
